“I started painting at the National Society for Clean Cities India (NSCCI), one of Mumbai’s most prestigious NGOs dedicated to the upliftment of young, talented underprivileged children. With the exclusive training I received here, I won the Shankar’s International Award in Painting in 1989. NSCCI has helped me develop my vision as a socially responsible, secular filmmaker. I consider it to be my first university in life, one that enlightened me and spurred me on my path to success. It is a place where dreams are realised.” Bapu Sarvagod – filmmaker, visionary educator, graduate of the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, with a Fine Arts degree from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, and an MA in Philosophy and Political Science.
